They waved pickets and shouted cheers to attract a pumped-storage power plant.

“The mountain that looks boring at first glance was everything to us. It is said that the mountain is the best place to build a pumped-storage power plant.”
A pumped-storage power plant is a facility that uses surplus power to turn pumps to pump water into highland reservoirs and use the water to generate power when needed.
When a reservoir is created, houses are submerged, residents have to relocate, and there are environmental problems, so it is considered a representative ‘facility to avoid’.
But in nutrition, they call it ‘opportunity’.

“It is said that it is an extinct area, but if it is located in such an area, it can solve the electricity problem in Korea as well as regional development…”
Yeongyang-gun has the lowest population in the country after Ulleung-gun.
When a power plant is built, 150 employees will come in, and tax revenue will increase by 1.4 billion won.
It is for the same reason that nearby Bonghwa-gun has entered the competition to attract.
Cheongsong-gun recently made a direct proposal to the Ministry of Justice to build a women’s prison.
There are already 4 correctional facilities, and they are going to attract them again.

“The region is the most vulnerable to extinction. We are self-rescue. The site for the correctional facility is very large. There is enough room for a women’s prison in that site.”
Residents are also welcome.

“(Is there any economic effect?) A little bit. But (Cheongsong) Jinbo lives because of this side and because of the prison guards.”
In endangered areas, avoidance facilities are becoming eager ‘straw’.
