Starting class → bullpen evolution → 1-run ERA blitz “Wanting to start? No more”

Hanwha Eagles pitcher Yoon Dae-kyung came from behind to help his team win the series and earn the save메이저사이트.

With the bases loaded and the game tied 3-3 in the top of the fifth inning against the Kia Tigers at Hanwha Life Eagles Park in Daejeon on Friday, Yoon became the third pitcher after Kim Bum-soo to take the mound and pitched 1 1/3 innings of scoreless baseball with two strikeouts and no walks. Park Sang-un’s RBI single in the bottom of the sixth gave his team the lead, but the next three pitchers followed with scoreless innings to earn his second win of the season.

After the game, Yoon said, “I was lucky to pitch a no-hitter, but the other pitchers also kept the game scoreless. I’m thankful to Park Sang-un (for giving me a good lead and making the game-winning hit),” she smiled. Yoon Dae-kyung, who took over the mound with the bases loaded in the top of the fifth inning and pitched the sixth, said, “I was informed in advance and prepared, so I was able to throw comfortably. It wasn’t a big pressure situation. I didn’t think the situation would end with just one hitter, so I thought, ‘Let’s go to the next inning,'” he said of his mindset.

Yoon, who has been called upon frequently in close games this season, said, “As a player, I’m very grateful for the faith they put in me. I just want to repay that faith,” he said. “Previously, I had a lot of appearances in win-loss situations, so even if I had a good ERA, it was difficult to attach much significance to it. Now that I’m being used in tight situations, I want to continue to show my good performance.”

Yoon Dae-kyung, who began to be used in the bullpen in the 2021 season, was once given a starting class. “I stopped thinking about starting last year,” he said. “When I threw (as a starter) last year, I realized that this is not for everyone,” he said. “I think I’m used to and fit in better than a starter because of my ability to concentrate on closing short innings like this and give it all out.

“I think it’s a record that will be broken someday, and I’m trying not to get too heartbroken when it happens,” said Yoon, who is on a streak of one-run ERAs. “There are a lot of good pitchers in the team. I don’t necessarily want to pitch a no-hitter, but I want to play a role in blocking the given situation and handing over to the next pitcher.”
