‘Snell in Wonderland’ 12 pitches to 1 run: ‘Shows ERA No. 1’

The starter walked seven batters in five innings and gave up five hits. There was also a wild pitch. But only one run was scored. This is the story of Blake Snell, 30.

The San Diego Padres hosted the Toronto Blue Jays at Rogers Centre in Toronto, Ontario, Canada on April 21.

Snell started the game for San Diego and threw 105 pitches (55 for strikes) over five innings, allowing one run on five hits.

Snell walked a whopping seven batters while striking out four over the five innings. But he kept the runs to a minimum. He allowed just one run.메이저사이트

This lowered his season ERA from 2.71 in his last game. Snell has a 2.67 ERA on the year, cutting the lead to 0.12.

Snell worked out of a jam in the first inning, and a failed steal in the second allowed him to escape the inning with one out.

Snell then got out of a bases-loaded jam in the fourth inning with a strikeout and a pop fly, and again in the fifth with a walk and then a strikeout to end the inning.

Although he received no support from the San Diego offense and suffered his eighth loss of the year, his ERA actually dropped. It’s a typical pattern when Snell is good.

Snell has now pitched 108 innings in 20 games this season, with a 6-8 record and a 2.67 ERA. He has 143 strikeouts.

If he keeps this up, he could win the ERA title. His strikeouts are second in the league. He will likely win his second Cy Young Award.

San Diego was unable to capitalize on Snell’s one-run outing, falling to 0-4. Toronto’s Chris Bassitt pitched six scoreless innings for his 10th win of the season.
