A user claimed to have attended the same school as Jung Jeong-jeong, 23, who murdered a woman in her 20s whom he met through a tutoring application 안전놀이터(app) and dismembered her body.
On the 2nd, the post by user A on YouTube went viral in the online community. A, who claimed to be a high school classmate of Jung, said, “I have her phone number. We were in the same class, but she was weird and couldn’t get along with people,” and claimed that she was “very introverted and had a small voice.”
“I thought she was a good person, but I’m shocked (she killed). “I thought he was nice, but I’m shocked (that he killed himself). I went to school with him at the beginning of the semester and talked to him quite a bit. I didn’t think he was evil at all. It’s a shame he was so delusional and murderous,” he wrote. The authenticity of the post has not been confirmed.

Jung allegedly murdered A, a woman in her 20s, at her home in Geumjeong-gu, Busan, at around 5:30 p.m. last month, then dismembered her body and dumped it in the grass along the Nakdong River in Yangsan, Gyeongnam, before travelling by taxi at dawn the next day.
It is understood that the two first met on the day of the incident through a tutoring brokerage app. Jung Yoo-jeong allegedly went to A’s home wearing a second-hand school uniform and lied that she was a middle school student, and then committed the crime while chatting.
The taxi driver who picked her up became suspicious when he saw blood on her suitcase and called the police. Jung was arrested by police while being treated at a hospital for stomach pain. The police confirmed the identity of the body in the suitcase and found the other body in Mr A’s house.
“I actually committed the crime because I wanted to kill,” Jung said during the police investigation.
On the 2nd, Jung was sent to the prosecution on suspicion of murder and disposing of a corpse. He said in front of the police station before being sent to the prosecution that day, “I think I was out of my mind. I am sincerely sorry to the bereaved families,” he said.
The Busan District Prosecutors’ Office plans to form a dedicated investigation team with three prosecutors’ offices under the Violent Crimes Division to investigate the exact motives and methods of the crime.
