‘Jamsil Big Boy’ Futures’ first business trip, no hits in 3 at-bats and 1 walk… warming up for batting

LG Twins Lee Jae-won finished his rehabilitation and made his first appearance in the Futures League. In his first game, he had no hits.

In the first at-bat after one out in the first inning, he was out with a ground ball to third baseman on the 7th pitch against Doosan starter Park Shin-ji. After two outs, LG created chances for the second and third bases with Kwon Dong-hyuk’s single hit and Kim Seong-jin’s double, and Kim Bum-seok hit two RBIs and took a 2-0 lead.

In the second inning, Choi Hyun-joon hit a solo home run and ran away 3-0. Lee Jae-won entered the second at-bat with 2 outs and 1 base, picked a walk and got on base. 

He was out on a grounder to second base in his third at-bat in the fifth inning. He was retired on a catcher foul fly with two out and first base in the seventh inning when the score was tied 4–4. Then, in the defense at the end of the 7th inning, he was replaced and the game was over. 

Lee Jae-won suffered a side injury during spring camp, and returned to the exhibition game after rehabilitation. However, he played two games in exhibition matches and suffered another side muscle injury. 

While receiving treatment for injuries in the rehabilitation group, he also trained to see fast balls with his eyes. 

Coach Yeom Gyeong-yeop expected, “While rehabilitating, I continued to practice watching the balls on the 150km pitching machine. Almost 500 balls a day. Since I rehabilitated for about 3 weeks at the same time, it won’t take long to recover my game sense.” He had no hits in his first game.
